 Ok did that, and recompiled the kernel, and compiled and installed
the latest version of modutils.
  I can get on the net now (heck I'm on it) with the new kernel.
Now when I do a tail -f /var/log/messages I see this...

Anything to worry about?
  Sorry for asking so many questions... had my head up my arse playing games on
windows
the past few months, and just now getting back into Linux again, on an old
Slakware install at that :)
Amasing what you can forget in that time span heheh.
