Hunting [was: Assistance]
Thanks for the input in finding stuff for running gnucash, those who
replied. I'm not quite there yet, though. I ended up getting the SCSI
card I've been wanting for so long so that I could run the Exabyte drive
I had lying around, so that I could make the backups that I should have
been making, so that I can muck with the system without worrying about
having to call for a new Mathematica password! Installations have a way
of pushing an awful lot onto the stack.
Anyway, I got a newer distro so I'd have the latest libs, but I changed
horses to Caldera (for some included software), which seems to have
worked out -- only I still have some failed dependencies.
QUESTIONS:
1: I'm new at module hunting. Does anyone have a one-stop source
for the following:
libXm.so.1
libguile.so.4
libjpeg.so.62
libpng.so.2
libtermcap.so.2
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0)
libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.1)
libm.so.6(GLIBC_2.0)
2: I have libc.s0.6 listed in /lib. Why does this turn up as a
failed dependency? Also, what is the significance of it beling listed
as (GLIBC_2.1) and (GLIBC_2.0)? I guess that it's not a matter of two
different symbolic links pointing to the same place?
3: What, if any, is the consensus of mixing distributions? Is this
not a reasonable way to assemble the best of each?
I guess that's it for now. Thanks a ton, folks!
