RE: [TCLUG:9843] Society for Creative Anachronisms (was: Re: [TCLUG:9823] Linuxconf &c)
Well I'm one. :) I'm actually the exchequer (treasurer) of the local group.
I actually was a computer geek before I was in the SCA but it was someone I
meet in UMD's computer lab (I worked in the lab at the time) who introduced
me to the SCA down here in the Twin Cities.
Now the SCA has taken most of my free time where before it was spent in
front of a computer. Now I'm playing catch up on some of the things that I
used to be on top of.
Recently my husband (who is also a computer geek who is right now hooked on
playing Everquest) stated that I should spent more time in the computer room
instead of sewing so that we can spend more time with each other (oh right!
His view of spending time is playing EverQuest together!). So this is why I
decided it is about time I do some needed system upgrades on our Linux box
and my game playing box (which is only a 120 right now).
Jen (or Gwen in the SCA)

how many other SCAdians do we have here?
people in the Society for Creative Anachronisms are kind of
interesting... they seem to be predominantly a bunch of computer geeks. to
the point where you can start talking about very technical things with them,
and expect to be understood. :) you don't even bother asking if they have an
e-address, before asking for it. :)
