I have a WD 18gb LVD drive, and it autodetects if LVD is actually apparent
or not. I've got it on a U2W controller right now, works great @40mb/s. I
helped a buddy set up a system with 5 of those drives in an array off a
LVD controller, works great @80mbps. I don't know if all drives autodetect
like that though.
