I have dealt with just about every drive type at one time or another.
Maxtors are ok, but just ok, they have a competent rma service that was
quick and not a hassle. IBM and Seagate are the bomb. I have installed
at least two dozen of the two brands and have yet to return a single one
or have them fail. In fact we had stacks and stacks of old 20 mb to 100
mb drives piled in the corners that still worked. For IBM and Seagate I
am pretty confidant in the fact that they will become obsolete before
they wear out. I am currently running a 9.1 and a 4.5 IBM ultra scsi 3
LVD drive in my system and they are very quiet.
