Man, has it been a long time. Error message have even changed. :-0

Anyone tell me what this error message means?

ifup-ppp: pppd started for ppp0 on /dev/ttyS0 at 115200
modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108
pppd[2059]: The remote system (ppp0) is required to authenticate itself but I
pppd[2059]: couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.
