There's a Hamfest & Computer Expo (ham is slang for amateur radio) in
Saint Paul on October 30. Before you say "Objection: Relevance":
These shows often have old cheap computers, and these can be put to good
use as machines on which to learn linux. They can even be made useful as
firewalls, IP masquerading hosts, file and print servers, MP3 players or
for other projects.

One note: hamfolks like to get up way too early. This thing starts at 8am
and the general knowledge law of hamfests is this: The stuff you want is
gone by 11.
