I feel your pain. Running out of disk swap realy fscking sucks with
GIMP. It endlessly opens dialogs, choking up X and the window manager,
and most likely takes both down with it...

For gods sakes they need to make GIMP deal with such a situation a bit
more gracefully...

I've got a mere 200mb free on /home, so I've easily hit it a few times
before tracking the problem down and moving swap over to a windows
partition with a few GB free. :P
