Well I tried it, and it's pretty cool. Previously, I was booting from a LILO floppy. By adding the line "lba32" to the first section of lilo.conf I was able to get LILO to cope with the fact that Linux is installed on the upper partition of a 20GB IDE drive, well beyond the physical 1024th cylinder (actually the 24XXth cyl).
