What does /etc/resolv.conf look like? Is it pointing at the name server
(127.0.0.1 or the DNS server address)?
Is another host assigned this address also? If so, you might want to
assign a CNAME instead.
othername A 10.5.28.11
www CNAME othername.fake.net.
Just a suggestion, but the more info you provide, the more useful help
you will get. Just don't give out anything really sensitive.
