I saw somebody post a question about building a live bootable Debian CD. Although I've never done it, I saw an ISO on freshmeat for an OS called Finnix, which is designed to boot up and and give you the tools to mount your partitions and fix boot problems. It's based on RH6.1 so it may not be exactly what you're looking for. www.finnix.org -Brian
