You obviously didn't attend the last installfest, where many of us were
instilling knowledge and helping out with people installing their systems.

And some of us were showing off our linux desktop success.

This list comes into a help-pool because 

A) we are nice people.
B) the people who would love to talk about how much success they have are
too busy for the list.

Right?
