Completely OT : where to go to better this price

Folks:

Can anyone recommend where to go to 
begin looking for a better price than this?

I haven't gotten into hardware yet
(the way most people on this list on into hardware)
so I'd be giving up on-site warranty for
  ... at least $500 off this price.  Is that possible?

(If someone sees something on this product list
 that's Linux incompatible, let me know.
I haven't checked yet.)
