I use afterstep.  I found a nifty program called asmail that is used with
wharf and will check your mail on remote machines periodically, the problem
is, to do this you must write your login info in the config file (.asmial or
something like that).  One would assume that this is a severe security threat
since anyone can look at this file and see your login info for your pop3
server.  Is there anyway of using this program without having this threat?
