Oh yeah,

Yes, I included support for /dev/audio & /dev/dsp in the kernel config...

Subject: [TCLUG:1310] Sound setup on new machine

Hello all,

I'm having a problem setting up the sound on a new machine I've got.

Here is a snipit of "dmesg":

Sound initialization started

<Yamaha OPL3 FM> at 0x388
Sound initialization complete

Here is my /dev/sndstat file:

I'm running slakware with kernel 2.0.34, on a Gateway Solo 9100 laptop.

According to some information I found from a guy who has set up a gateway
9100 machine, I've selected the WSS in the kernel config "sound" section.
I've set the IRQ, DMA and I/O to what windows says the WSS is set to...

Now, I'm not getting any error messages when I boot, but, as you can see, I
don't have an audio device, therefore, when I "cat foo /dev/audio"  nothing
happens.

Anyone have any words of advice, or hints on where else I can look??

Also, if there is any additional information I can include that may be
helpful, please let me know.

Thanks!!!
