ncpfs NDS and login denied

I'm experimenting ncpfs since I think the servers I'm trying to connect to
use bindery emulation. I just downloaded ncpfs-2.2.0.6 ran make dep and
make install. I got the following error:

gcc -E -M -I../include *.c > .depend
ncpmount.c:51: ncplib_err.h: No such file or directory
ncpmount.c:201: #error "You must define at least one of MOUNT2, MOUNT3"
make[1]: *** [dep] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/lueyb/install/ncpfs-2.2.0.6/sutil'

when I did make dep. The file Makeinit contains "MOUNT2 = 1 " which is
for kernels 2.0.x (I have 2.0.35) and MOUNT3 = 1 is commented out because
it is for 2.1.x, which I don't have.

The install continued, so I then tried

ncpmout -S FABIO -U lueyb.l.stu.carleton /mnt/test

it asked for a password, and after I typed it in I got:

[root@pcLueyB /etc]# ncpmount -S FABIO -U lueyb.l.stu.carleton /temp/
Logging into FABIO as LUEYB.L.STU.CARLETON
Password:
ncpmount: NCP Request returned error code in nds login
NDS error code -601.
Login denied.

Any ideas?

(nwclient, and ipx -r were running while doing this)

Thanks,
