[COW] Kurt, Carlos
Hey,
Erik Olson <ejolson@indiana.edu> recently uploaded some COW and BRMH binaries
with keys to ftp.netrek.org. Below is the README file associated with the
binaries. I have moved copies of these to /pub/netrek/clients/{brmh,cow}
for now, but I'd like to hear something from Kurt about these binaries.
Carlos, attached are the public keys if you decide to add them to the client
key ring.

Hello--
I've recompiled the cow with small fonts client to resolve some
library compatibility problems with my Linux system. Before doing
this I tried all available cow clients with the small fonts and none
have worked. In particular I have tried
COW.2.00pl0.linux.Small.Screen
COW.2.02pl3.linux.libc5.Small.Screen
COW.2.02pl1.linux.Small.Screen_BETA
COW.3.00pl0.linux.libc5.Small.Screen
COW.2.02pl3.linux-glibc.Small.Screen
COW.3.00pl0.linux.small.screen
These binaries are either expired, use glibc, or use the slightly
defective version 5.3.12 of clib. For my new binary, I generated a
new RSA keys since I am unaffiliated with any other client development
efforts. I believe the clients I have created are compatible with all
Linux ELF systems using libc5. They are named
brmh-2.3-LinuxELF-mar1999
cow-2.02-LinuxELF-mar1999
cow-small-2.02-LinuxELF-mar1999
The binaries along with their public keys are available for anonymous
ftp in /pub/netrek at tangle.evermann.indiana.edu. I have also just
uploaded them to /pub/netrek/incoming/ejolson on ftp.netrek.org. Here
are the public keys
