No SuSE has
	/usr/games/bin:/usr/games
in the path per default.

Not the owner. SuSE has a user "games" set per default as well.
It's the group. Under SuSE I have a group "game", but no group "games"
Anyway, it's only a warning and sets it to root automatically.

/usr/games/bin neither?

And for the server dir? Anyway /usr/bin is earlier in the path and will count.
Same would be if you use /usr/games/bin

Thanks

Probably the /dev/audio stuff should be default, it works on all systems.
Switching to KDE sound should be optional.

BTW: COW has already
#ifdef SYSTEM_DEFAULTFILE
  /* now try for a system default defaults file */
  if (findfile(SYSTEM_DEFAULTFILE, file))
    return 1;
#endif

for a system wide .xtrekrc file for quite a while. It's only not set currently.
where should it point to per default?
