COW 3.00pl1 SIGSEGV on metaserver read

Carlos, I've noticed a SIGSEGV in COW 3.00pl1 under certain conditions
of data from the metaserver. Need to gather more information before I
give you a full report though. An strace then gave this just before the
SIGSEGV, but then the metaserver data changed and the problem went away.

recvfrom(4, "r,19\nzapp.icoa.com,2592,4,1294,"..., 2048, 0,
{sin_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(3521),
sin_addr=inet_addr("128.149.33.188")}, [16]) = 729
time(NULL)                              = 932464260
write(5, "<\1\2\0g\t@\0035\1\4\0h\t@\3\355"..., 2032) = 2032
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

fd 4 is the UDP port to the metaserver.
fd 5 is probably the X server.
