I've been using Helix-Gnome lately and I've been very happy with it.  It 
was incredibly easy to install and it looks great.  I switched from 
Enlightenment to Sawfish and I've been fairly happy with that too.  Sawfish 
has a few quirks but I'm sure it will be straightened out before long.  As 
I see it there aren't any huge differences between Gnome and KDE but KDE 
looks too much like the Mac and my perception is that Gnome is the 
"geekier" of the two so I'm all over that.
