You are as they say caught between the rock and hard-place on this one. There
are DEFINITE benefits to running the 5.0Ap36 code with the K56 modems, while
there is the downside that you lose the feature you referred to above.

The merging of these items happens in the 6.0 release, BUT that is still in
the
early BETA cycle - see:
