and then set Telco options-> Call Type=Perm/Switched the call will be redialed whenever the link dies, AND every [MaxCallDur] minutes the link will disconnect then redial. you must enter the items in the order above, because once you set Call Type=Perm/Switched the Max Call Duration field displays "N/A", but it continues to do its job even when hidden. so now you ask, "what good is that?" I have one customer using NAT on a p50, with a nailed connection, dialed from me to them. occasionally they will have network slowdowns which we THINK are memory allocation problems with the NAT, if I disconnect them every 60 monutes, problem disappears. -Jim H ---- Jim Howard Sr Network Engineer Lyceum Internet jhoward@lyceum.com http://www.lyceum.com/ 404.248.1733 My PGP Public Key: http://www.lyceum.com/~jhoward/pgp-key.txt Fingerprint: 7E8B E2BA 1314 2535 CB08 CFF9 119B 7CD3 2488 954D ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.nealis.net/ascend/faq>

Prev by Date: Re: (ASCEND) 5.0Ap38 for the MAX products

Next by Date: (ASCEND) 5.0Ap38 for the MAX products

Prev by thread: RE: (ASCEND) Pipe75 dialing into Courier I-modem @128k

Next by thread: (ASCEND) SNI-22: RADIUS Advisory (fwd)

Index(es):

Main

Thread
