Some background on this....the MAX *typically* is in the passive open
mode for dial-in PPP connections. That means it expects the client
side to start the PPP session. However, when it is configured to
handle scripted logins it will send the login prompt to the client. 

When the MAX is NOT configured for the terminal server - 
security=full/partial, then it will not send the login prompt, and passes 
control to the terminal server "ascend%" prompt - _if_ the remote does not 
start PPP within the timeout which is defined in the PPP-delay parameter.

If the DUN application is configured with the post-dial terminal window
enabled, then *it* also waits....expecting the server to either begin
the PPP session, or send a login prompt - to the terminal window.

In this case, both ends are waiting for the other end to start....
