Re: (ASCEND) Re: MAX Java Configurator confounder

Ok ok... I lay donw my gloves. In actuality Even though we run Our MAIN ISP
systems under Solaris, In house we have a hdoge podge of 95, NT and even at
one time Os/2. IT really harkens to my philosphy of using the right tool for
the right job.

But what started this thread was Matt's statement of JAVA for 95/Nt only ?!?
Come on ... The THEORY is JAVA doesnt care, and if certain specs are adhered
to, it will run on MOST JAVA capable machine.

Reminds me of when I was consulting to a Fourtune 500 Department store
chain and EDS was developing code using Knowledge Base. The HEAD EDS Unix
guru stood up in the meeting and said "Since we are generating ANSI C and
ANSI Sql on a SPARC, I guess that it will only run on a SPARC" ...duh..
