(ASCEND)Help-Connect Speeds-56K
Mailing list newbie here.
Just wondering if anyone has gotten a 56K connection.
We installed two Max4048's with 56K modems to replace old Multitech modems.
Connect speeds dropped.
Analog modems gave us many 33,600 and 31,200 connections but now we get
28,800 with a rare 31,200. Yet to see a 33,600. I think this is normal
from what I've heard.
Modem(AT &V1) reports that line quality on the analogs about 20 while new
modems 127.
We're bringing in channelized T1's from a Nortel DMS-10 and the codec or
the trunks must be adding "noise", maybe?.
Have had a few problems with disconnects, especially the USR Sportsters.
New Hayes and Zoom 56flex modems would not even connect until we gave the
additional string +ms=11,1 to force them to run at v.34.
Any help or suggestions or just getting brought up to speed would be
appreciated since I can't find the archive,
