we have connected a Bintec Router to an Ascend MAX4000. Either using PPP or EURAW, 40% of the calls terminate after no data is transmitted. (Routing etc is ok). The syslog shows: Jun 25 13:40:45 radius-stgt ASCEND: slot 9 port 2, Assigned to port, 071... This very very nice handbook (really nice, what kind of handbook is supplied for such a $$ product: no right index, missing disconnect causes, missing fatal error causes etc) which would be better used for making a good fire :-) doent help very much. Sorry for these words, biut when paying about 30.000$ for a system i can assume a better quality of handbook. I dont need a lot of screenshots, i need help to determine what has caused any problem. All these things are missing in the handbook and since one year ascend should have had enough time to make a better one. For this price you could expect a litte better support. It cant be right to send your customer a cd telling them to print alle pages out (which even takes with a good printer a few hours. This is not what i understand in quality of service. E.g in this case, i have searched all over the handbook, and i only found a few lines about the syslog output. I want to know what the c= and p= means etc.. Btw: does anybody have a list of fatal codes and their meaning ? I know guys from ascend are reading this list: consider that times have changed. Now a few other products are available on the market especially they have a better prrice for the modem cards and ascend isnt the only solution any more. So ascend should make a few efforts to be better than the others. The )&$&) Handbook makes me very angry and i am close to consider using another product, just because of the handbook !!!
