Marketing......
If you want a stripped down model, to sell at a lower price,
you delete the air conditioning, headliner, tinted windows,
FM radio, and such.
In the computer business, you sell the box with 16K of RAM and
cassette basic; rather than 640K and MS DOS 1.0.
The same applies with hardware-dominated products, you just do it
differently. Remember the Pipe 25 diversification into PX, FX, etc?
