(ASCEND) NAT for a LAN w/ 1 IP address

Good news on the NAT feature in 5.0Ai10:

>From: Carolyn Lowery

>For NAT using 1 address (requested in IPCP) with multiple workstations, I
>tested this functionality and it does work at 5.0Ai10.
>
>The release notes mention a parameter which I think is called "NAT LAN".
>This parameter is not present in the Pipelines, but the feature works
>anyway. The workstations should have preconfigured addresses in the same
>subnet as the Pipeline & point to the Pipeline as the default gateway.
>Simply turn NAT Routing = Yes, and NAT Profile = <connection profile name
>or Rem Name> as before.
>
>You can watch the translation in debug by invoking the command "nattogle"
>(natt is enough) -- when traffic causes the Pipeline to dial, you can see
>the address it receives and the translation from more than 1 workstation.
>
>Because there is no option to toggle, this release does seem to disable the
>functionality in which additional workstations cause the Pipeline to send a
>DHCP request. I do not know if there are plans to re-introduce this in
>another release with the above field.

KAS>> I don't know if anyone actually used this feature anyway ?

>However, I think most people will prefer the 5.0Ai10 solution: it uses
>less addresses & does not require any additional configuration on the MAX
>(regular pool settings are enough -- DHCP options no longer apply).
>
>Please let me know if there are any additional questions.
