RE: (ASCEND) Analog Multilink PPP and RAS

Multilink PPP [otherwise known as Asynch MPP [AMPP]] has been supported
since 5.0ai4. It is not supported in any patch branch and will not be
until 6.xxxx.

Check out the 5.0ai4 release notes.

Subject: RE: (ASCEND) Analog Multilink PPP and RAS

Hi.
I've been trying for months to get an Analog Multilink PPP
session working. I have a static IP and everything in my Radius entry
is kosher to get a 2-channel ISDN session up. However, luck with analog
is not as good.
At one point (we've been changing the software patches on our
MAXen... currently 5.0Ap7), I could get 2 LAN sessions up on the same
MAX, but no data would transfer...in _or_ out. Every other time I've
tried, I will get one LAN session up, and one LAN security error.
I believe the problem is that RAS "bundles" analog lines,
whereas the MAXen do MultiLink. These are two different "connection
schemes" (for lack of better terms). As far as I can see, it is the
ISDN modem itself which does the MulitLinking; therefore RAS doesn't
seem to contribute to multilinking. If you have success, let us know.
I will do the same!!!
