(ASCEND) Re: hash codes... (loosing Wan3,4+ISDN)

Hi all readers

I'd like to comment Steves mail, and also whine about Ascends hazardous
joke about limiting the code only for newer Max4000:
		********************************
Ascend states this on the ftp site:
"Patch Releases - A Patch Release contains only bug fixes made since the last
full release which will not affect the stability of the release. Patch
Releases may not be released on a regular interval."
		********************************
I never uploaded a image for K56; nevertheless I got EXACTLY the same
problems as Steve had indicated on below excerpt...

The Max4000 was afterwords not recoverable, NOT EVEN with new HASH!
That costed us 19000 US$; Thank you Ascend for letting us spend that few
bucks on something that seems to be your fault...(ticket: )

Oh I forgot; the "fast replacement" took almost a MONTH!

Description:#3 and #4 PRI lost after upgrade!

Hi support.

I have encountered an error with a Max 4000(s/n 5510843).
After upgrading from 4.6B to 5.0Ap13(eba.m40) I lost second entry of NET/E1
in main edit menu 20-000 - i.e. I lost primary line #3 and #4.
**(Comment: Plus I later discovered switched ISDN/HDLC framing was lost!)**

I called into support an got a hash code:
update 7 1023 4 C]B\G:O6JX>4;[
update 8 65535 1 DkEj@|HpMNYr\m
update 9 65535 48 w?v>sX{T~JjVo9
update 14 255 3 4=3D5<0J8F=3DxIDL;
update 11 1023 514 5b4c1u9y<GH{Md
update 1 255 8 O~N~KiCeF;RgWx

but menu line was still "not avail"

Johan Pihlsgaard at Ascend Nordic sent me another hash:
update 7 1023 4 C]B\G:O6JX>4;[
update 8 65535 192 5Z4[1=3D91<_H3M\
update 9 65535 116 3{2z7l?`:>^b[}
update 11 1023 2 5`4a1w9{<EHyMf
update 1 255 4 CrBsGeOiJ7^k[t=20

but still "not avail" in the menu(of course I did a reset after the hash)...

...soo, is there any solution for this problem, or shall we send the unit
for repair; is there any diagnostic that can be done to rule out any other
error?

<SNIP>
I would like to comment about some complaints I have seen in this mailing
list about Ascend's error in not warning people to get hash codes when
upgrading their machines (particularly to K56Flex and the code that
supports it).
<SNIP>
I had this problem when we upgraded our maxen to K56Flex...
After learning all about hash codes and how I lost wan3 and wan4
and the ability to accept ISDN calls after I upgraded, I posted, to this
very list, a long email detailing what happened and WARNED people in very
strong words. I too felt I should have been warned.
Aside from posting about how they're really pissed at Ascend, do they read the
emails?
<SNIP>
I have been fairly impressed with Ascend's tech support too --

Not I; Do they READ EMAIL?
 Every time I email support@ascend.com or emeasupport@ascend.com it's like
 sending letters into a black hole paper destoyer wich gives an automated
answer: "Someone has recived your reguest; No one will contact you;
Everyone  will ignore this ticket#xxxx"
