Ahhhh....  I see....

My first thought was that using the same pool number for the two pools
would conflict and I would need to assign max02 "2 208.15.109.180 46". 

Then, I couldn't figure out how to assign two pool numbers to the 
Ascend-Assign-IP-Pool  parameter for the DEFAULT user. 

By your example above, however, the pool number is unique to each MAX and
Ascend-Assign-IP-Pool=1 would work for either.
