Re: (ASCEND) OSPF crashing itself



Yes, we've been really afflicted by this one.  In fact, we've gone all the
way through the Tech Support process, and had an Ascend engineer on-site
last week.  He's coming back this week for Round 2.  What appears to be
happening is that something is causing the OSPF database to be corrupted by
incorrect overwrites.  This tends to knock out routing, among other things.
 People can dial in, but can't go anywhere.  Also, no alarms or indicators
of any kind until somebody calls in and tells us.

Unfortunately, he hasn't nailed down the bug yet, but he has managed to
find other problems that were masking the bug.  So, maybe soon.  If
anything definitive gets found out, I'll put it here.
