(ASCEND) P130 Performance?

  I am looking into replacing our aging Cisco 2501/Kentrox CSU with a
P130... Am I mad?  Is the P130 a simple T1 router for an ISP client, or
can it handle a small ISP (1000+ users) load?  Any ideas out there?
