I had a problem with Ericsson mobiles which I fixed by disabling compression somewhere on the Max. I have just been through the Max menus and can't remember where I did it! It may have been an init string for the modems... Anyway, with compression enabled the mobile wouldn't work, with it disabled it would. Not very helpful, but a start...
