I have a special bank of a dozen old analog modems attached to serial ports on a terminal server just for this. Any of my customers who have connection problems because they still have only v.32 or v.FC modems are asked first to upgrade/replace their modem, if they refuse they get the phone number for this modem bank. The number is often busy, and when they do connect, its almost never above 21kbps... but we _do_ give them a choice they can spend paltry $100 on a new modem, or live with the limitations of their outdated technology. -Jim H ---- Jim Howard Sr Network Engineer Lyceum Internet jhoward@lyceum.com http://www.lyceum.com/ 404.248.1733 My PGP Public Key: http://www.lyceum.com/~jhoward/pgp-key.txt Fingerprint: 7E8B E2BA 1314 2535 CB08 CFF9 119B 7CD3 2488 954D ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.nealis.net/ascend/faq>

Prev by Date: Re: (ASCEND) Have to hit a key for prompt in terminal window?

Next by Date: No Subject

Prev by thread: RE: (ASCEND) SNMP application from Ascend.

Next by thread: (ASCEND) Max4000 + TNT Stacking

Index(es):

Main

Thread
