This is not necessarily true! IP applications under win95 use Nbt (netbios 
over TCP/IP) to make socket connections. As for name resolution, the 
sequence is: host/lmhost files -> DNS server -> WINS. 
This whole scenario works with Maxen. I personally use 5.0Ap5 and it just 
works!

Ditto.

You may want to look at routing to your WINS server. Maybe try a static 
route. A trace might also help.
