Re: (ASCEND) LAN Security Error



As has been mentioned, you'll see this if there's an IP address conflict.

However, it's also common (and I think more likely in this case) if she's
got partially corrupted data when transmitting her login and password.
Make sure that the X2 protocols are turned off in the modem init string.
Also try removing and reinstalling the Dial-up Adapter and associated
network components in the Network Control Panel.

Also, if you're using Radius, try deleting and recreating her Radius
record.  We had a patch of time where our Radius records were getting
corrupted that manifested in authentication errors.  Nothing obvious showed
in the record, but deletion and recreation would create an uncorrupted
record, which fixed the problem.

Just a few ideas.
