It wasn't all that nice because the same failure as with all versions
before popped up: It dialed nonsense numbers or nothing at all. However,
now knowing that it must work, we dived a bit into the debug mode and AT
commands, and finally found it: It's an A-Law vs. u-Law issue ! Thus no
American would ever notice the problem...
All problems suddenly disappear if you send the modulation selection code:
at+ms=56,1,300,33600,1,0
                     ^
This sets A-Law for us Europeans, and after that, dialing works like a charm.
Seems that the Ascend decodes the DTMF the chips send upstream to him, and
with the wrong x-Law, this fails badly.
The bad thing actually is that users have to find this out...
