7.0b0 is a beta release, not an official release.  It doesn't count, yet.

It is my understanding from talking to Ascend reps (e.g., this is "hearsay",
not gospel) that "6.0" and "6.1" will be supported until "7.0" is released.

There will still be a general 6.1.x released in the future, but no one can
say exactly when (Kevin?  Matt?).  It is my understanding that Ascend has
been doing more testing before releases and so it can take longer before
they arrive on the FTP site.
