(ASCEND) I'm having problems setting up my new MAX 4048
The telco finally hooked up our T1 this afternoon. I'm working my way
through the quick start and I'm stuck. After I configure the T1 (Inband,
AMI, D4, etc.) and I assign my numbers to the channels. It asks me "Is the
Power LED on AND the fault, data, and alarm off? (page 3-13).
My Power Light is ON (good).
Fault Light is OFF (good).
Data Light ON (BAD!, I think.).
Alarm Light OFF (good).
At this point the manual tells me to stop until I correct the problem and
suggests a bad cable if it's a fault but doesn't mention where to look if
it's the Data light. T1 termination looks good and no alarm light would
lead me to believe the cable is good. What might cause the data light to
stick on even when there are no active connections? I think it's something
in my configuration. Or could it possibly still be a timing issue with my
T1? Should I be calling Ascend or my phone company?
Any Ideas would be a great help,
