(ASCEND) P130 ISDN to Max 4030

Hi,

I know that what I'm trying to do isn't rocket science and it should work
(I think!) but I can't for the life of me get this very simple scenario
happening.

I don't have the box in front of me at the moment, so what I'm saying may
be slightly wrong, but you get where I', going and what I'm trying to do.

Background:
A 60 user network needs to be connected to an ISP. We aren't using NAT.
Client end is a P130, and we are using the BRI. ISP is currently a Max
  4030.

Config:
The max is configured with unnumbered interfaces. We are using radius.
Dialin works as we have a number of people already using the MAX, and
the radius user we are trying to log in as also works, as we can dial in
  via analog modem.

Max has IP address of x.y.z.2 with a netmask of 255.255.255.128 and
quite happily tells the remote end to use IP address x.y.z.100.

  On the P130 side I have a subnet a.b.c.0/24.

I've tried to read the P130 book and, as someone else said a little
while ago, we just don't see eye to eye.

Now for the questions:
  * Is there a WWW page out there that tells me how to set the p130 up as
    a pure router?
  * If I ping x.y.z.2 the ISDN is bought up and the ping works, but if I
ping something else (non local) it doesn't work. How do I tell the
P130 that packets that go you the default route should also bring the
    ISDN up?
  * after the link is bought up the default route still points at wanidle!
I've setup the default route as they've said in the maunual. I assume
I have to setup the default route to point at the far end of the ISDN
link, and packets should then bring up the link as required... how? My
default route is already pointing at the far end?
  * How do I set up the P130 to dialout if I don't know the IP addresses
the remote end will assign to me?

I've spent 2 days on this so far and now am asking for help. So if any one
has a cookbook for setting up a P130 as a pure router using ISDN and
ethernet I'd love to hear from you.

Cheers,
Gavin
