You should check the disconnect cause codes in the syslog, they should
indicate the reason for the disconnects. Just a wild guess since the 
2 minute timeout sounds familiar, are you running 6.1.X with LQM
enabled? Back when we were running that setup, several modem users
were disconnected approx. 2 minutes after the initial connection.
