Yes it does. It supports the standard protocol BACP. As long as the
central site speaks BACP they will interact fine. 3Com cites
interoperability with Ascend, Cisco, Bay and other vendors.

Agreed. I sell P50 to business clients only. It's not only the hardware
costs but the installation and configuration as well. The LANmodem
hardware is cheaper and the customer interface is _way_ friendlier than
with P50s (did you ever search for "telnet" on a Mac :-).

So much praise for a non-Ascend company makes me a little embarassed
actually...I get along with 3Com equipment very well on the LAN side,
they are IMHO not particular strong in the WAN business. That seems to
change now. The focus is on ease of use and value add, now that the
market is there. I'd wish ASCEND would have a long look at the user
interface and features.
