(ASCEND) (Ascend) Struggling with MRTG
Trying to monitor line usage and ethernet traffic
on my max2012.
The following line gives me the correct number of modems
in use but not the correct number of modems installed - shows
0 modems instead of the 12 on our modem card.
Target[isdn]: 1.3.6.1.4.1.529.10.5.0&1.3.6.1.4.1.529.4.24.0:xxxxxxx@max2012
Anyone know how I can get it to show the correct number of lines available
(we have 12 channels of a PRI)? Can the channels in use be broken down
between analog and isdn?
As for the ethernet interface, cfgmaker shows
Target[max2012.4]: 4:xxxxxxx@max2012
MaxBytes[max2012.4]: 1250000
Title[max2012.4]: max2012 (max2012.atlanta.sgi.com): ie0
PageTop[max2012.4]: <H1>Traffic Analysis for ie0
</H1>
<TABLE>
<TR><TD>System:</TD><TD>max2012</TD></TR>
<TR><TD>Maintainer:</TD><TD> </TD></TR>
<TR><TD>Interface:</TD><TD>ie0 (4)</TD></TR>
<TR><TD>IP:</TD><TD>max2012</TD></TR>
<TR><TD>Max Speed:</TD>
<TD>1250.0 kBytes/s (ethernetCsmacd)</TD></TR>
and I have tried
1. Target[max2012.4]: 4:xxxxxxx@max2012
2. Target[max2012.4]: ifInOctets.4&ifOutOctets.4:xxxxxxx@max2012
3. Target[max2012.4]: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.4&1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.4:xxxxxxx@max2012
all of which give me big fat zeros for both In and Out octets.
My box is a max2012 (i.e. 12 digital modems in slot2 and ethernet as slot5 (yes,
I've tried indexing the OID's with "5" instead of "4" to no avail).
Thanks,
ct
ps - Of course, what I would really like to be able to do is
map the stats I want to OIDs but after reading through
Ascend's SNMP supplement (and I'm only kind of dumb - not
real dumb) I'll be damned if I can figure out how to go
from ifInOctets.<ifIndex> to a an OID that will work with
MRTG.
