(ASCEND) PL75 and PM3E

I have a PL75 connecting to a PM3E using MP and BACP with a 24x7 1B
connection and DBA on the 2nd B.

All was working fine - the PL75 is running with the 7.0 code.  Christmas day
the PL75 showed 128K for the current connection and no stars (*)  for each B
channel - just a (-).

I had to telnet into the router and force a redial.  I have a cron job that
pings an external host every 5 minutes and this wasn't  forcing the PL75 to
call the PM3E (like it normally does).

Any ideas?
