Re: (ASCEND) Accepting incoming connections from a Cisco?

Hi,

We just had a similar problem (from the sounds of it anyway). It was
between a CISCO 1003 (IOS 11.2.3) and a MAX 400x series (6.1.3).

1. Be sure the CISCO has at least IOS 11.2.14 installed, earlier versions
were broken.
2. Be sure that since Ascend can't do bi-directional authentication that
you use the string that negates that 'feature' on the CISCO, I think it's
something like "ppp auth pap callin" or some such thing, I'm not near the
unit right now but if necessary I can get it for you.

It took about 8 hours to come up with this answer between getting CISCO and
Ascend together on the phone, (CISCO being more responsive might I add) I
hope this helps.

Best Regards,
