(ASCEND) I need some help.
I was hoping someone on this list could help me:
I have never set up an ascend pipeline before and I need to setup two
50s and get a remote location on the network.
Like I said I have two pipeline 50s running the latest firmware release.
Everything is set up so that they can call each other and connect. The
problem I am having is how to set these up so that the packets are
routed or bridged correctly.
The remote site has around 10 computers connected to a hub along with
the 50. The local site has another 50 connected to one of our switches.
As of right now the remote location has hard coded ips. Lets say the
remote pipeline has an address of 257.230.59.51
The Local Pipeline has an address of 257.230.59.50.
And the main routers address is 257.230.59.254
I have routing turned off and bridging turned on right now - I can ping
from one pipeline to the other but that is basically it. Basically
should I use routing or bridging and how do I set these things up so the
packets are going through?
Thanks
