For what it's worth, we successfully ran a Max4048 for a couple of months and
about 50 dialup users strictly out of the NVRAM profiles, using 5.0Ap11. No
RADIUS server involved anywhere. It seemed to do just fine.

(Of course, six months after that the unit melted into slag, but I suppose
that's another rant entirely. :-))
