We had problem with Cisco 700 series calling to MAX4060. First, there is
some problem with bi-directional authorization - you have to disable
incoming
authorization on dialing Cisco (Cisco-Ascend specific problem as documented
in Cisco 700 manual).

Second problem is that our customers Cisco and our MAX could not negotiate
MTU
size during LCP phase of PPP connection. With help of Cisco PPP debug mode
(you can find much more on www.cisco.com) we have determined that Cisco
constantly requests MTU of 1522 (our MAX had 1524) and after three tries
link gets disconnected by MAX. I have reduced MTU size on our MAXens to 1522
and our customer does not have any more problems.
