(ASCEND) Any hope for DM-8 upgrade?

One of our downstream providers was going through a buyout/management
change/witchhunt/what-have-you when the Ascend "3 DM8 for 2 DM12"
deal went through and so didn't get to take advantage of it.

Now they're stuck with 1 Max4K and 6 DM-8 cards, but they DID get
those upgraded to the Series F K56 versions.

Is there any way they can recoup some of the cost, as they really need
to get rid of these and switch to DM12s- they're finally growing and
it's either swap 'em or buy another Max.

Is anyone running trade-ins or any kind of credit-toward-12 MOD cards?

Has anyone any suggestions for them?
